The History of Our HVAC Business

Redlaw Mechanical Inc is owned by Jim Walder. Jim got his start in HVAC in 1984. In 1991, he moved to Northern Neck, VA in search of a better life for his family. A few years later, in 1998, he formed his own company, called Jim Walder Heating & Cooling. His mission was to offer "Quality HVAC Service" for all his customers. The initial focus of Jim Walder Heating & Cooling was to sell the best HVAC equipment in the area.

This commitment paid off. By 2001, Jim was able to incorporate his company, and Redlaw Mechanical Inc was formed. Just a few years later, in 2005, the company expanded again. This time, Jim added a full-time service department. This service department has grown steadily and is now a primary focus of our business.

Even from the start, Jim understood that quality started with the equipment. He became a dealer for American Standard in 1998, and he added a Lennox dealership to his business in 2012. In 2016, Jim expanded his business by adding a dealership with Trane after parting ways with American Standard. In 2019, he partnered with Bosch to differentiate his service from the competition. Redlaw Mechanical Inc currently offers the highest quality brand equipment from Bosch, Trane, and Mitsubishi at the most affordable prices.
